Just had a quick look through the budget documents for references to farming and agriculture.
Summary below (its doesn't take very long 🤨 😅)
Unlike last year when there were lots of farming announcements (https://lnkd.in/e3gc6xEp) this year its pretty thin stuff.
Despite all the lobbying of NFU (National Farmers' Union) - Tom Bradshaw, The CLA - Gavin Lane, HM Opposition - Robbie Moore MP, and many others, farming seems pretty non-existent on Rt Hon Rachel Reeves's list of priorities.
The word farming does come up four times, but sadly all 4 are farms of the wind 🌬️or solar ☀️ variety rather than 🚜 🌾 🐄 🐑 !
The only mentions of 'agriculture' are to confirm that the removal of Agricultural Property Relief will continue as planned (a.k.a. the Family Farm Tax)...
