Yes. Nutrient recommendations follow AHDB's RB209 guidance under licence from AHDB, covering arable and grassland, with soil nutrient supply and previous cropping taken into account rather than a flat rate across the farm. We are in the process of adding the SRUC technical notes, so the same applies in Scotland. Compliance checks run alongside the recommendation, so you see whether what you are planning is within the rules at the same time as seeing what the crop needs.
Yes, and crucially it shows you live as you work rather than at the end. Record an application and any breach appears straight away, while you can still change the plan. The checks cover NVZ closed periods, field limits and farm limits, Farming Rules for Water, and organic manure nitrogen limits.
Yes, and it takes under a minute. Upload the lab report and our AI reads the results off it, scans and photographs of paper reports included. If you have already added samples in Soil Sage you do not need to do it twice. Soil organic matter, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium carry across, so a farm with a soil plan already has most of what the nutrient plan needs.
Both, recorded separately so you can see what each is contributing. Manufactured fertiliser and organic manures each get their own record, and the nutrients from the manure are credited against what the crop needs.
Out of the box it uses standard RB209 and Farming Rules for Water book values, so you can record a slurry application in a few seconds and move on. Underneath, the nutrient availability is worked out from the manure type, your soil type and when you spread it - the same slurry gives very different available N in October on a sand than in March on a clay - so even the quick version gives a number you can defend.
If you want to go further, set up a custom manure from your own analysis instead of the book values, and the same for fertiliser products. Either way the figures carry through to the plan and the compliance checks.
Yes, all three. The Nutrient Management Plan is built to meet SFI NUM1, and the same plan and records answer what the Environment Agency asks for under Farming Rules for Water and what Red Tractor asks for on nutrients.
No. Anyone can build a plan, and the RB209 logic does the calculation. You record your FACTS qualification on your profile, along with BASIS, and it then appears on every report you produce, which is what an inspector or an assurance scheme will be looking for.

Longer answer: without paying a penny you can add as many farms as you like, and use almost all the features of the platform. That could be viewing and editing the pre-populated risk maps, soil maps, details of waterways and sensitive areas, and auto-suggested management actions in Soil Sage. Or getting RB209 nutrient recommendations, planning manure or fertiliser applications, and checking NVZ compliance in Nutrient Nerd. Or creating - and checking the legality of - pesticide spray recommendations in Crop Rex. Or drafting your SFI26 application in SFI Shepherd.
SB Farm unlocks all four products on a farm for £475 per farm, per cropping year. Only need one? Any single product is £200 per farm, per cropping year, or £150 where one of the users on that farm has an active SB Agronomist licence.
You only pay when you are ready, and you can choose to convert any number of the farms you have loaded onto the system, for only the plans you require.
Agronomists can buy SB Farm on a farmer's behalf, and we can invoice either of you. For the rest of your clients - the farms without SB Farm - an SB Agronomist licence lets you carry on sharing spray and fertiliser recommendations and creating basic nutrient management reports. It's £500 per user, per year and covers every farm you have access to.
