Pricing · SB Farm

Unlock the whole platform for a farm

SB Farm is a per-farm upgrade which unlocks everything the farm needs for the year, across soil, nutrients, sprays and SFI. It replaces the reports and paperwork you'd otherwise prepare and keep in Gatekeeper, Telus (Greenlight/Muddy Boots) or Omnia.

Drafting plans is free on the platform for as many farms as you like. SB Farm is required on a farm to download or share that farm's plans.

No per-user charges · No hectarage limits · Cropping year unlocked forever

£475(+VAT)
per farm, per cropping year

SAM1 needs a Soil Management Plan, and NUM1 needs a Nutrient Management Plan. Both have to be updated every year of your agreement. SB Farm Max does both quickly and easily, and the SFI payments comfortably cover what it costs. Worth noting that SFI26 doesn't include SAM1 or NUM1, and that SFI schemes don't apply in Wales or Scotland.

SAM1 £6/ha every year
NUM1 £652 per year

Who pays

Charged to the farm, not the advisor

SB Farm is bought against a farm, so the cost sits with the farm business. The farm's agronomist or advisor can add the upgrade on the platform and send the invoice straight to the farm.

Who it covers

Unlimited users on a farm, upgraded or not

Share a farm with as many people as you like at no cost: the farm team, sprayer operators, farm secretaries, and the agronomist or advisor working on it. There's no per-user charge, and there never will be. Upgrading the farm unlocks it for all of them at once.

Advising farms that haven't upgraded?

SB Agronomist, £500 per user, per year

Paid once per user, per year, and it covers every farm that user is on, however many that is. It carries the day-to-day work you'd otherwise do in Gatekeeper, Telus (Greenlight/Muddy Boots) or Omnia: writing and sharing recommendations, and producing basic nutrient reports.

One licence covers your whole client book. Basic plans and recommendations on the farms that haven't upgraded to SB Farm, and the in-depth soil and nutrient plans and full SFI applications on the ones that have.

Only need one mode?

Pick and mix a single mode for a farm

Not every farm needs everything. Unlock one mode on one farm for a cropping year at £200 (+VAT), or £150 where one of the users on that farm holds an SB Agronomist licence. Credits work the same way: buy them in bulk and spend them on whichever mode each farm needs.

What others charge

Cheaper than legacy systems & better value the bigger your farm

All legacy platforms charge by the hectare, so their bill climbs as your farm size grows. SB Farm is £475 whether you farm 100 hectares or 1,000. The bigger a farm, the bigger the difference to legacy prices.

Onboarding

Thinking of moving off an older system?

A modern, cloud-based system
There's nothing to install - everything works online and syncs automatically between your devices, and between users. It's quick and easy to use, with a map-based interface.
Moving is less work than you think
Upload one export from your existing software for each year you want to bring across. We import cropping and operations straight in - it will feel like you've been on the platform for years!
You can actually get hold of us
Speak directly with the founders or the developers, not a call centre. We're UK-based, and can change things rapidly - raise something in the morning, we aim to have a fix out that day.
And we're 100% independent
We don't sell inputs, and we're not owned by an agronomy firm or a data company. We're not competing with you, not selling your data - just here to build great software for UK farms.

SB Agronomist covers the day-to-day work you do in a platform like Gatekeeper, Telus Farm Management (Greenlight/Muddy Boots), or Omnia. You can create and share fertiliser and spray recommendations, track them as they're applied on the farm, and build basic nutrient management reports, all on one licence. Label, NVZ and RB209 compliance checks are built in and alert you as you go.

Or just give us a ring and we'll do it with you
Book a 30 minute onboarding call and you'll get a real person, not a chatbot. We'll talk you through exporting your data out of your existing system, get it loaded in, and have you up and running on Soil Benchmark before the half hour is up. It really is that easy.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Still got questions? Email info@soilbenchmark.com or book a call with us via Calendly.

What does the £475 actually cover?

One farm, for one cropping year, across all four products - Soil Sage, Nutrient Nerd, Crop Rex and SFI Shepherd. Building and checking plans is free on as many farms as you like; the charge is for exporting and sharing the finished thing.

Is there a charge for extra users on my farm?

No, and there never will be. A farm upgrade unlocks that farm for every user with access to it - you, your colleagues, the farm team, sprayer operators and farm secretaries. Add as many people as you like at no extra cost.

What can a farm do without upgrading?

A lot. Receiving recommendations, seeing them on the platform and recording what was actually applied are all free, as are the risk and soil maps, RB209 recommendations, on-screen compliance checks and drafting plans. The upgrade is for the finished plans and reports - downloading and sharing them.

I have multiple holdings, do I have to pay for each one separately?

No. You can merge multiple holdings into one farm on the platform.

If a business has several SBI numbers (or multiple shapefiles) which have been uploaded - and you keep them as separate farms on the platform- then each one would indeed need its own upgrade. However, you can merge them into a single farm first using the Merge Farms button (under the 'Tractor' icon on the top bar), and then you only pay once for the merged farm.

Which cropping years does a farm upgrade cover?

It depends which product you are talking about.

Our SB Farm Max (and individual Mode upgrades) are limited to a single cropping year on a single farm. However, once you have paid, this is the unlocked forever. If you wanted to export plans for a different cropping year, you would need to pay again to unlock that year too.

Our SB Agronomist subscription allows a user to create and share recommendations for all their farms, in any cropping year. It's a subscription, so while it is active, there is no limit on which cropping years you can work on.

Can I cancel, and what happens to the plans I've already produced?

There's nothing to cancel - you pay per farm, per cropping year, rather than by subscription. Anything you've already produced stays accessible, and the years you've paid for stay unlocked.

How does this compare to my existing farm software?

SB Farm Max is £475/year and allows you to make all the same key plans and reports as Gatekeeper or Omnia. For most farms other platforms can cost in the thousands of pounds for a large farm. Even a basic Telus subscription would normally be £600+, so Soil Benchmark should be significantly cheaper. And as other platform generally charge more the larger a farm gets, for those farms Soil Benchmark is a fraction of the cost (as well as, hopefully, a lot easier to use and with much better support!)

It's worth saying that we offer loads of support to help you migrate data across from all the main legacy farm management platforms (including Gatekeeper, Telus and Omnia). Get in touch to get set up.
